KC Conway to Preview CCIM Insights Paper “Retail e-Volution” at 1st Annual Alabama Appraisal Institute Forum

K.C. Conway, director of research and corporate engagement at the Alabama Center for Real Estate and CCIM chief economist, will present on how the changing Alabama economy plays into retail commercial real estate via ACRE and CCIM’s new Insights paper “Retail e-Volution” at the 1st Annual Alabama Appraisal Institute Forum powered by ACRE on October 2, 2019, in Birmingham, Ala.

Conway will discuss the factors impacting the Alabama economy including logistics infrastructure, the manufacturing and tech industries, the Alabama workforce, low cost/low tax and affordability. “This is not your parents’ economy,” said Conway. “The Alabama economy has changed post-Great Recession and now ranks high among all states on so many metrics.” Additionally, he will address the technology disruption curve that is transforming the global economy and how it effects Alabama’s growth.

Prior to joining ACRE and CCIM, K.C. Conway had worked in commercial real estate for over 30 years, as an appraiser, lender, credit officer and economist. He is also recognized as a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) and a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI).

The 1st Annual Alabama Appraisal Institute Forum will also feature presentations by Ronnie Phillips, principal advisor at RealStar Realty Advisors LLC, and Fitzgerald Washington, secretary of the Alabama Department of Labor. The forum is open to anyone interested in the topics to attend.  It is approved for four hours of continuing education by the Alabama Real Estate Appraisers Board and three hours of continuing education by the Alabama Real Estate Commission.
