Where does Alabama stand on age of construction workers?

The median age for a construction worker in the United States is 41, according to a recent article by the National Association of Home Builders.

The data is based on analysis of NAHB’s 2015 American Community Survey, which placed Alabama’s median construction worker age right at the national median age.

The median age for Alabama construction workers is right in line also with the median age for the state’s general workforce.

According to the latest data from NAHB, job openings among builders was up in April, with the number of open construction jobs in the U.S. at 203,000.

According to NAHB, builders still list labor shortage as one of the top challenges to running their business.
