Announcement of ACREres 2018 Theme and Speakers

The Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE) is pleased to announce that the second annual ACREres residential real estate conference and expo will be held on May 3, 2018 at The Club in Birmingham.  The 2018 conference theme is “FlashForward.” By definition, a flashforward temporarily moves ahead in time to reveal expected, projected or imagined events.

“There is no doubt the future will look different than today. Changes in the economy, technology and communication will affect how we live and work,” said Cherie Moman, director of education, marketing and communications for ACRE.  “ACREres aims to share insights and inspiration for the future and provide actionable takeaways for attendees to begin positively impacting their future today,” added Moman.

ACREres’ theme is reflected in the line-up of speakers and presentations. Among the presenters are:

Dana Duckworth – Head Gymnastics Coach, The University of Alabama
Dana Duckworth will deliver the opening keynote at ACREres. She is in her third year as the Crimson Tide’s head gymnastics coach. Prior to coaching at Alabama, Duckworth obtained her master’s in business administration and worked as a highly successful executive in sales and marketing. She is married to Joe Duckworth, whose family has been involved in Tuscaloosa real estate for generations.

Dr. Alexa Chilcutt – Director of Public Speaking, The Speaking Studio, The University of Alabama
Dr. Adam Brooks – Assistant Director of Public Speaking, The Speaking Studio, The University of Alabama
Dr. Alexa Chilcutt is an expert in the areas of professionalism and impression management as well as leadership and team dynamics. Dr. Adam Brooks in nationally renowned pubic speaker and expert in mass communication.  Together, Chilcutt and Brooks empower professionals to craft engaging presentations and deliver them with confidence.

Cherie Moman, ABR, e-Pro, Green – Director of Education, Marketing & Communications, ACRE
Cherie Moman will moderate the technology panel at ACREres.  In addition to her duties at ACRE, Moman is a GRI technology instructor for the Alabama Association of REALTORS®, a REBAC approved instructor, and currently serves on the NAR Professional Development Committee.  The ACREres technology panelists will be announced soon.

Jessica Lautz – Managing Director Survey Research & Communications, National Association of REALTORS®
Jessica Lautz writes annual studies for NAR including the Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers and the Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends report. The core of her research focuses on demographic trends for both NAR members and housing consumers, and issues such as: how housing preferences shift in an ever-changing marketplace, the consistent trends of consumers for the desire to own a home, consumers search to find a real estate agent, and generational trends.

KC Conway, MAI, CRE – Director of Research & Corporate Engagement, ACRE
Stuart Norton –Research Coordinator, ACRE
KC Conway has amassed more than 30 years of experience in real estate as an appraiser, lender, credit officer and economist. He has been recognized for accurately forecasting real estate trends and changing market conditions across the United States. Stuart Norton manages ACRE’s residential market research, producing monthly, quarterly and yearly sales reports on 26 residential markets across the state, monthly new construction reports that track new construction building permits and housing starts, and the center’s Alabama housing affordability index.
